One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:28-31 (New International Version)

This is a great example of courage and love for his neighbors. When Tropical Storm Ketsana hit Manila on a Saturday in late September, Muelmar Magallanes didn’t do much. Like most residents of the Philippines’ capital, the 18-year-old construction worker was used to heavy rains pelting the city. But by the time the storm had unleashed its full fury, bringing the worst rains the region had seen in more than 40 years, Magallanes had changed the lives of dozens of family members and neighbors — and lost his own. After hearing that a nearby river had jumped its banks, Magallanes helped move his family to higher ground as water engulfed his village. Then he went back to do the same for some 30 neighbors. After helping a mother and her infant off a makeshift raft, an exhausted Magallanes was lost in the water, his body recovered the next day. “He gave his life for my baby,” Menchie Penalosa, the child’s mother, told Agence France-Presse. “I will never forget his sacrifice.”

A Journey Home

Oktubre 9, 2009

This is a movie that was produced by our mother church (Jubilee Evangelical Church). The story is all about a father who was asking for forgiveness from his children and a son who can’t forgive his father. This is a very practical movie. The story of the movie is typical yet its should be watched. I watch this movie after the typhoon Undoy, after the great flood. The weather is not that good yet i still mange to watched the movie. When I was in the movie house with my friend we both notice that the movie is a little bit predictable. you might find yourself predicting what will on the next scene. yet as i have said earlier you should watch it. I can really explain the difference of this movie to other typical comedy-drama movies. What can I only suggest is simply watch it. I hope that they can produce DVD copies so that I could have my own copy. This is a very inspiring movie that every family should watch. The cast on this film were   Soliman Cruz, Joem Bascon, John Manalo, Athena Tibi, Trisha Canete and Toni Gonzaga (Whose one of the reason why I’m eager to watched the movie.

Please watch the movie and see it by yourself!

Sino ba si Darna?

Agosto 15, 2009

Kasabay ng pressure defenitely they are very proud of it.

The fifth tatse

Agosto 13, 2009

It’s really funny at the same time I felt so stupid when the wife of our CHurch Pastor asked me about this. She is reviewing her elementary student kids for their examination. I was working with the laptop during that time and luckily there is Internet. She asked if there is a connection. So I said yes, Then she told m to search for the “Fifth taste”. (She also don’t know it). Her elder son said “it’s Umami” but we didn’t believed that so to make sure I google it. I type to the search bar “The fifth taste”. Thank God for Wikipedia. It agev me the answer to the question that make me feel stupid. This Information is really new for me. Gosh! See how stupid I am. I did not know that. But an elementary student answered that for me.

For those people loike me who don’t know what the fifth taste is. I’ve searched it for you.

Umami (旨味
?) is one of the five generally recognized basic tastes sensed by specialized receptor cells present on the human tongue. Umami is a loanword from Japanese meaning roughly “tasty”, although “brothy“, “meaty“, or “savory” have been proposed as alternative translations.[1][2] The same taste is also known as xiānwèi (traditional Chinese: 鮮味; simplified Chinese: 鲜味 literally “Fresh Flavor”) in Chinese cooking. In as much as it describes the flavor common to savory products such as meat, cheese, and mushrooms, umami is similar to Brillat-Savarin‘s concept of osmazome, an early attempt to describe the main flavoring component of meat as extracted in the process of making stock.
The umami taste is due to the detection of the
carboxylate anion of glutamic acid, a naturally occurring amino acid common in meats, cheese, broth, stock, and other protein-heavy foods. Salts of the glutamic acid, known as glutamates, easily hydrolyze and give the same taste. For this reason they are used as flavor enhancers. The most commonly used of these is monosodium glutamate (MSG). While the umami taste is due to glutamates, 5′-ribonucleotides such as guanosine monophosphate (GMP) and inosine monophosphate (IMP) greatly enhance its perceived intensity. Since these ribonucleotides are also acids, their salts are sometimes added together with glutamates to obtain a synergistic flavor enhancement effect.[1][3]

Now we know that knowledge and wisdom does not depends on our age.
This only means that older people can also learn from the younger generation.
